A while ago WordPress introduced in Version 4.3 a new feature for the visual text editor. So now it’s possible to use some Markdown-like (similar to Markdown) shortcuts.
If you write an article in the visual editor of WordPress, you can now format your text by typing in shortcuts.
For example, if you type:
## TEXT
in the visual editor of WordPress, it will be replaced by
TEXT
, which looks like this:
TEXT
The following shortcuts are available:
Shortcut | Result |
---|---|
## TEXT | TEXT becomes a heading H2. |
### TEXT | TEXT becomes a heading H3. |
#### TEXT | TEXT becomes a heading H4. |
##### TEXT | TEXT becomes a heading H5. |
###### TEXT | TEXT becomes a heading H6. |
- TEXT | TEXT becomes an unordered list. |
* TEXT | TEXT also becomes an unordered list. |
1. TEXT | TEXT becomes an ordered list. |
1) TEXT | TEXT also becomes an ordered list. |
> TEXT | TEXT becomes a blockquote. |
Courious? Well then try it yourself 😉
